UOnce again I dunno who or what 'trolling' comes into the pictures because I reiterate that Ive never undermined the beatles but I feel really sorry for anyone that puts the beatles on a pedastal over the beach boys cuz thats prevalent ignorance, as asinine as can be....opinion or not the beach boys took what chuck berry started and revolutionized the industry, and then the following decade the ramones came along and revitalized what good rock was hence punkrock... Its easy for someone that doesnt get it to name call or skew a synopsis but thats not would Id wanna do//

does it never occur to you that calling someone ignorant because they prefer one band over one you prefer is actually a very ignorant thing to do? Obviously not. Please do post some of your performances on line for me to check out so I can get just where this authoritative vibe is coming from.

Ringo never had the musical ability to pull of a solo masterpiece like dennis Pacific ocean blue dennis wilson is by far a better composer arranger and drummer. Everyone forgets that the beatles had three very strong song writers and the beach boys had one! So in short the beach boys are far more talented. I am an american and on the 4th of july i watch fire works eat hotdogs and crank the beach boys! I cringe when i hear any british invasion band on that day.

The beach boys had 3 strong writers- brian, dennis and bruce/ cant forget all the great records bruce did with melcher and he 'wrote the songs' for mr manilow, and dennis co-wrote you are so beautiful with preston// mike love was a great collaborator...sometimes people forget that paul was to brian what mike was to john.

The beach boys had a drummer? I had not noticed!

I'll go with the "holy trinity": Ringo, Keith (Moon), and Charlie (Watts)

Oh, and Steve Gaad gets an honorable mention...

Ehhhh, I think it is more of (I am assuming here....) us being a generation or two away from the average active member on here. I was born in the seventies. Lots of these cats were alive when the Beatles were actually playing live, so they got to experience the British Invasion. The closest we came to that was watching the Austin Powers series.....Laughing H That is also probably why most of them have never been able to fully appreciate, nor recognize, why hair metal and Gun's and Roses are the best music of all time. They were born too early!!! Laughing HLaughing HLaughing H(no flaming here, just having a bit of fun):D

Here come ole flat-top..... he come groove`n up slowly.....He got ***-*** eyeballs....He want holy rollers....He got hair down to his knees....Got to be a joker...He just do what he please....

66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

The Beatles were also Influenced by Little Richard,Carl Perkins,Little Richard and......Elvis,just to name a few.Just listen to Roll Over Beethoven,Twist and shout or Long Tall Sally.

Ignorant and asinine, because I prefer one band over the other.Oh well get over it little boy.And I can say that after seeing the BB's live 4 times, and stating here on this forum, that Surfs Up was a master piece.

You're much to childish and immature to be playing in this sandbox, and having a mature ,well thought out discussion with the adults here, without outright, just making up your own "facts".

Play nice,Dennis Wilson would want it that way KooK.....:D

You are right on the money as the younger dudes just weren`t there to experience it as alot of us on the VDF did at that very time.Being there and seeing it first hand kind of puts everthing into perspective.I very much appreciate all the younger generations opinions but to be there in that time period speaks volumes from those who were.We really don`t need to debate Beatles vs. Beach Boys-they were both great bands and i was influenced by both. And those two bands are the reason that i chose to make my living in music and as a drummer.Long live the 60`s...and thanks to the younger generations for loving that era of music.
