This is for the forum member Kook !! which drummer inspired you to play the drums Ringo Starr or Dennis Wilson ?
I can't wait to see the results, my friend! Before I vote though, let me get one thing straight. Ringo was the one with the Camco drums, right?
Brian
No ,he was the one that wasn't with the Beach: Boys, the bestest band of all time:D
Steve B
Neither really in the first place, but Ringo Starr inspires me to be a better lyrical player whenever I listen to a Beatles record.
The Beatles were and still are the greatest band to have ever graced the planet. On so many levels including business, popularity, song writing, body of work, musical heritage and on and on. They kind of stand alone really. After that for me its fair game to argue. The Stones do it for me, followed be The Who, The Kinks, The Doors, Led Zep etc etc. The Beach Boys where great too.

Where is the button for "all of the above."
Hmmm. we'll I'm not really old enuf for either of these drummers to have inspired me to play but....
Tommy Lee got me really wantin to play.
Then I discovered "THE GUY". The Thor of all drummers. BONHAM.
Then Bernard, and Carmine, and Buddy and Stewart etc.
I don't think it's the guy who inspired you to play so much as the guy who inspired you to open your mind and really consider the possibilities and learn and truly express yourself.

Being born and raised on the east coast WABC AM in NYC was the station as kids we all tuned in to the most. I'm talking 60's here. All the top 40 hits. For me Ringo and the Beatles were my main influence early on. I would think since the Beach Boys are a west coast band they'd be more iconic out there? Surfing, Hot Rods and The Beach Boys! Hard to say as we all have different tastes in music. So it'll be interesting to see how this all pans out.
Also interesting is a list of weekly music surveys from 1960 to 1982 from WABC.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Now that's well said.
