Looking at the add on the bay, The incorrect FT legs sit`n on the batter head,..this looks like a 16"x16" and not a 14"x14", but I`m a Sonor guy and not too sure !!
Doesn't this look like a fake?

I see now that the ft leg brackets are not the correct era, as they don't have exposed screw heads.
Probably why it`s missing the legs, someone replaced them with 64+ brackets !!

May also explain the extra hole too !!

Not necessarily.
The switch to the diamond leg and cymbal mount with the non-exposed screw heads was in the early 60's. But, I it would be nice to find out about that hole below the plate.
It appears that someone moved the lugs further from the bearing edge and had to move the diamond plate further away as well.
Notice how close eBay drums diamond plate is to the badge. That 'extra hole' might be in the right place but it looks like the lugs were moved higher so the plate had to be move as well - or the lug would be right on top of the pointy end of the plate.
My Gold Sparkle 14 and Anniversary 16 here as a comparison to the eBay drum.
I wonder if the plat without the screw is a different size and after puting the hole in the right spot, had to move it ? Hence not doing the others !i

I have some of the other diamond plates (no show bolt-head screws) and they are exactly the same size.
The one in the old add is a 16".
The 14" one from ebay doesnt seem right to me. Possibly a Cocktail drum that was cut down?

Man - if you're going to go to the trouble of converting a Cocktail drum to a 14 floor tom (which I have thought about doing) why not drill the holes where they're suppose do be. Especially if you're covering the drum anyway and have already ruined any vintage value.
