Doesn't this look like a fake? Last viewed: 57 seconds ago

The distance that these lugs on this posting make me think that this is a fake. Given that the interior label is destroyed, an oddly placed hole, and yet the wrap is pretty nice.

I don't know a lot about gretsch but I've seen lugs like that on a 14" gretsch floor before, where the top set are further away from the hoop. Could be legit.

I noticed this drum as well. Something does seem a little off about it. That extra hole doesn't make much sense to me. It appears that the only bearing edge photos are of the top edge.

It's a nice drum.....But ya, why would someone drill a hole right below the diamond leg plate like that? It almost looks like it was a 'first try' to drill holes for the lugs.....or the leg plate?

Everything is good to me, just can`t explain the extra hole !! But I`m a Sonor guy !! It shouldn`t demand full RB vitage market value.

Never saw top lugs dropped down so far. Also, the legs should be straight on a RB FT, no? And are those the correct leg brackets for RB FT's? The hole could be key to the whole thing. Who has a 14" RB FT?

I'm not an expert but wrap end is usually under the lug.

Picture 10 of 12, upper lug looks not straight, parallel to wrap edge...compare to down one.

Something is wrong there...

For comparison purposes:

This is my late 50's 14 floor tom. It was bought new in 1960 in a local music store where I now live. The person that bought the drums died and I bought the complete drum kit in 2009 from his daughter that inherited them.

The finish and hardware are unaltered.

This is how they came from the factory - except for the calfhide heads of course.

If we look at the RB "Band Name" outfit, we can clearly see that the cat. pic. shows the top of the lugs set down to the bottom of the muffler knob, like the one up top, I couldn`t copy the pic. that shows the knobs from the ebay add to show you what I mean !i

The lugs and brackets are in the correct place.
