The Kent badges were made of thin foil and could have been damaged and removed. It appears to have a Kent drum head on it also, so I think it is a safe assumption.
1958 Slingerland Set Last viewed: 1 minute ago
Good call. Any idea what that floor tom is worth?
Looking at the catalog scans here the 55 catalog (yes I know these are 58's) shows a New 2N Jobbing Outfit which might have been available in 58? Catalog pic shows a 3pc bass, tom, snare and the snare is a 6 lugger with clamshell strainer. Really nice drums you have Ed. I'm sure VM2000 can tell you more.BTW at the forum header above you'll see to the right "Vintage Drum Guide" click that and it'll lead you to the catalog scans. I saw 55 and also 59 listed. Good luck! Glenn.
The 2N looks like it has the cymbal mount on the bass drum. Nothing like that on mine. Could that be an add-on?
BTW: Glenn, Looking at your signature below your post, it looks like you could use something between that 40's and 60's set... maybe a 50's? :)
Ed that's a good question. I would think if it was possible to delete the cymbal mount from the order that might explain it. Again I would have to defer to the guys who know a lot more than myself. I was mainly looking for 3pc kits with a 6 lug snare with clamshell strainer. That's why I mentioned the 2N kit.
Wish I had the cash to get yours it looks pretty nice and unique as well. Well kept too. I just started the 40's kit I have and still have a long way to go. I don't think you'll have much trouble selling them. ;)
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

BTW what is the diameter of the snare drum 13" or 14". The 2N specs a 13" x 5.5" snare.

Unfortunately the Kent drums don't get the love the Slingerland drums get. Based on what other Kent drums are selling for on ebay's completed listings I would guess maybe $50 maybe if someone needed that drum to complete a set you could get more. It does have the original heads so that is a plus.
I think it might have the most value with the 3 piece Slingerland, but a Slingerland collector may feel different.
For that little, I think it will make a nice end table in the studio. :)
So heres what I know so far.
I have a 1958 3 piece silver sparkle Slingerland kit.
Mahogany Solid Shell:
Bass Drum 12"x20" (equipped with a drum anchor)
12" Tom (missing bottom hoop and lugs)
13" Snare 6 lug with clamshell strainer (More than likely Super Gene Krupa)
Leedy Hihat stand
1966 Kent Floor Tom 14"x14" (silver sparkle With original heads)(Missing Badge)
Please let me know what else I should add to the description. If you can confirm or think anything needs to change that would be appreciated too.
If someone can take a look at the other hardware and hihats that would be great.
Your floor tom is a Kent Floor tom. The muffler, the look of the stamp inside peace, tom
