Tell us about the yellow submarine kit! Love it!

Thanks for noticing ! It's an ebay kit and I love it too. It was advertised to be a 60's MIJ Star kit. I think Star morphed into Tama in the 70s ? The seller was an artist and said he stripped off the red sparkle wrap and painted the shells with acrylics. I loved his artwork but he wasn't much of a hardware guy - the kit needed a lot of TLC to get it into gigging shape. The shells are very thin and the BD and FT have 3 rerings (see pics). I've gigged with them and they sound great - look good and get attention. I played surf music when I was a kid and want to get into a surf band again with this kit - a perfect match !

9 kits, 17 snare drums... way too many for any one man. Some will have to go. At this point, I'd rather see some of them being enjoyed/played, than just sitting in my basement un-played. I'd like to strip down to 3 kits and a few snares... it's all I need.BunE and his 'barn O' drums' is going to kick-as$ on everybody here!JohnPS - 7 'proud' inches fully erect! Falling Do

Congratulations on sinking this forum the a new low. You disgust me.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

I keep two for myself, and two snare drums, and one set of cymbals. One kit for the practice room, one for gigging/teaching. These change from month to month based on what I've gotten ahold of recently, as I like variety and I cycle through my "keeper" drums.

Everything else is for sale at all times.

Not even close. I know a guy across town who has twice as many sets as I have, and we know a guy 40 miles away who has more than that.

Thanks Bun !!!! Bowing

I have no more storage room.

Six working kits, none of them much above players condition. 2 Gretsch, 2 Fibes, 1 Trixon. Fifteen snares. And a few orphans.

I'm a lightweight - 2 kits, 7 snares. But this thread reminds me I'm not crazy. Printing it off to show my wife. If I had unlimited funds, I'd probably only have 3 or 4 more snares and kits - just ones I've seen that I thought were really cool.

I'd really love to have a 20/12/14 Club Date kit in a duco finish. I know this isn't the WTB section, but if you have one in inventory and you're feeling benevolent enough to give a guy a great deal, PM me. I need to stay under a grand, including shipping. Think about it. :-)

Only 24 or 25 kits ready to go and 3 waiting for me to rehab them. I store them in a (was) spare bedroom and a 24x60 shop. Did I mention I'm an only child so there is that baggage and I have a wonderful wife who doesn't understand any of it.

I have 34 kits and 95 snares. Truthfully, I use maybe 4 of the kits on a regular basis, and have 5 or 6 go-to snares.

But I know other drummers/collectors who make my arsenal look quite modest.
