I knew about the 2 floor toms being 16 each, I guess it was the bass drum I was not sure about. I've only been around here a few years, Im a slow learner.

Jeff!

You're hardly a slow learner! Buddy always played a 14X24, or sometimes even a 14x26, the 14X26 especially so from 1983 on with his restored 1940's Slingerland Radio Kings. I normally don't do anything like this, but... I had wanted to check out the recording/posting capabilities of the iPhone 6, so... I recorded a little of those 1997 Ludwigs. Have a look/listen if you desire! It's just an iPhone recording/video, but you can get a good idea as to the sound of the drums. Goes without saying, a desktop PC with nice speakers will make them open up a bit! Lastly... LOVE the job you did on that resto Jeff! Beauties!

I'm between bands now, but these get rotated when I gig. While a parent shouldn't have a favorite, if someone pressed me, I suppose it would be the walnut—I've acquired a matching TDR snare for it since this photo was taken. But having a favorite doesn't mean that you don't love the others.

Tommy, thanks for that! The drums and you both sound excellent. Could you slow it down about 100 times so I can figure out what your doing, lol. Man, I wish I could play that good.

Thank you!

Nice smooth style Tommy.. Real nice "seemingly effortless" playing and I love the tuning of your kit..

Looks like the IPhone 6 cuts it too... Imagine recording something like that from your home just 10 years ago.. technology has come a long way..

Cheers

Glenn!

THANK YOU for the very kind words! So glad that you enjoyed! I'm working the Infinity Music Hall in Hartford with the Sinatra Show next Saturday the 17th, 8:00PM. Maybe we could meet! http://www.infinityhall.com/Events/the-sounds-of-frank-the-ultimate-musical-tribute-to-frank-sinatra-1-17-2015/

Jeff!

THANK YOU for the very kind words! I figured what the heck, let's see how this new iPhone records in the visual and aural plane, and... you would be able to see and hear those drums. The lighting in my drum room is so-so for doing something like this, but was just enough to see. I'll have to tweak it a bit! Also, it wasn't a planned or focused recording of course, so it was me just messin' around with a bunch of different patterns and some grooves. I would call it "solo fodder" ! Basically useless stuff in the actual realm of backing a band/vocalist, but fun to just let it go now and then. Glad you enjoyed!

grantro!

THANK YOU for the very kind words too! Glad you enjoyed!

longjohn!

TOO KIND! Thank you! I will say that I have always strived to play relaxed and smooth, rergardless of style, and with good posture. I greatly appreciate the comments! Regarding the tuning of the drums: THANK YOU again! the 9X13, 14X14, and 16X16 are "tuned" to play "here comes the bride" starting with the 16X16. That has always been a great starting point for me on the toms, and I have been doing that for decades! Gives them a nice spread and tonal center. Bass drum and snare drum are always the same on all my kits, and glad you liked 'em too! Yes!... that iPhone 6 is pretty impressive! We are certainly OLD enough to remember how it used to be. So true! Technology today is off the charts!

Olddrumgeek!

THANK YOU for the kind words too! 'Twas greatly and sincerely appreciated!
