Interesting piece of hardware, check it out

I ran across this on the bay, gives me some ideas, one of which to try to convert my WMP 20" floor tom to a bass drum. PLease look at the photo, correct me I'm wrong, would this hardware work on a Sling tom set up? It appears if can only be used with a matching type mount as shown in the pic. I would love to buy this and give it a try on my sling set, any thoughts if it would work?

Heck that would work for anyone who likes a rail consolette and a snare stand for mounting their toms....

Those are neat. They are for when you convert a floor Tom to a kick and want to mount a Tom on it. It fits in the floor Tom leg mount. I was looking at one of those before. I am considering getting the hardware so I can use my 16"x18" floor Tom as a kick and adding this hardware for a 12" Tom. The only thing is the L rod looks to large for a vintage Tom mount unless you use a rims mount or replace it with a 9.5 L arm. Also the rod that fits in the leg mount on the floor Tom is to big for a vintage leg mount. What is a good conversion kit for the floor Tom? I have seen 3 different ones but not sure which is your best bet.

They also make this kit with the smaller 9 or 9.5mm arms for both the floor tom mount side and rack tom side.

I don't own one, but I believe it is just the arms and bracket to mount the tom. Also looks like I was wrong about the arm sizes. You either get 12.7mm or 10.5mm arms.

From Purdie Shuffle

Didn't know all these parts were available as a package. Cool.

Those only work with brackets that can hold a 1/2" leg.

Also it needs to be a floor tom with three leg brackets. Two of the brackets face down and hold the spurs and then the remaining bracket needs to be approximately top dead center. This lets the Dunnett "rail" hang down from the leg bracket with the rubber foot resting against the shell.

I have one of these that came on an 18" Gretsch floor tom conversion....trouble is that, like many 18" floor toms, it had four legs which changes the spacing of the brackets. The two for the spurs were too close to the floor to really work right for that and the two that were facing up wouldn't really work right for the rail either. The only way to use the dunnett rail now was to try to get it to go "uphill" and then gravity tries to flip it up away from the shell rather than pushing the rubber foot against the drum.

Not trying to discourage anyone but if you have 4 leg brackets it screws the idea up....although you could replace a lug with one of the new Ludwig atlas brackets in an appropriate spot and maybe use the rail after all.

But then why not just get the whole Ludwig Arch setup and go that route?
