OK so the mount in the middle of the bass drum is a lil larger than the usual? is that why you're saying it might be a double tom mount? So you're saying its a good deal for the 700 or would you only take it for 600? are the drums maple? also the bass drum tom mount (the one in the middle) you're saying i could add that to the tom? and then move the cymbal mount (the one that looks like a handle) to the right side of the bass drum?Thanks for the help
Hi. I think it'd be a good deal at $700, but you might be able to get it for less, particularly right about now. According to"The Ludwig Book", they should be mahogany/ poplar/mahogany shells. Yes, I'd move it to the tom and put carriage bolts in the holes left on the bass. If you want to mount the tom, you'll need an arm. He may have it, they'e not very expensive. I really prefer to use a snare stand. If it was a twin tom kit, there'll be no holes on the R of the bass for a cymbal mount. I'd play it like this {see pic!}
Yes, it does have a S/S hoop, but at least it's Ludwig. Use it in back, or replace the inlay. Looks like a nice looking, solid set for a really reasonable price.
