You know, if you're not going to use the mount, you could use acover plate. This one's from http://www.jp2creations.com/ Kinda cleans up the look, lower profile. I made a brass one from sheet from the hardware store. Just use the base plate as a template......
hmmm.. thanks kinda cool.. ill have to think about.. ive never seen a vintage kit with one of those.. wonder how it looks.. i kinda like the vintage look of the tom mount though.
