I'm certain we could purchase quite a few vintage drum kits for the actual retail price of that snare ...

Actually it's a very reasonable price, under 1500.00...if the vintage snare drums that I like were all that price my life and bank account would be much happier but it's all by choice so it's all good.

Dodging traffic is so fun, actually it's a very quiet street...

I know it's standard copper, not sure what type...Joe at Craviotto said it's the standard copper used for shells and added that AK (AK Drums) might be able to shed more light on the source of the copper in Italy. If I find out any more I'll be sure to post.

Mike, Only you would refer to a $1500. snare drum as a 'player.' lol

How does it sound? With that combination of metals, I imagine it would be as dry as the Sahara! Does it sing like brass, or dry/woody like copper? What do you think and how do you rate it? Is that a Trick strainer on there?

Thanks for sharing. The only time I get to see $1000 + snare drums these days is when -you- post one of your new acquisitions!

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I just got it on 10-4-12...I am very happy with the sound right out of the box, although I will be changing out the Remo heads for Evans heads and putting on some 24 strand Puresound wires.

I like the brushed finish very slick looking snare. Lugs and strainer look super heavy duty, good stuff. Congrats.
