Found a kit made on my birthday Last viewed: 4 hours ago

This is interesting, leedy drums from the year I was born. Looking at this add, how hard would it be to get a matching ft ( wouldnt have to be 1962) and snare? And with the relocated tom mount considered is 250 a reasonable price? Sounds high to me but I really dont know. Here is the description from C/L,

I have two drums from a 60's leedy kit. The 12" rack Tom has brand new heads and is in good condition with all original parts. ( Tom mount has been relocated slightly ) i also have the 22"kick drum with original hoops and tension Rods for one side of the drum, not original on the other side. Original muffler in kick drum as well. Unplayed batter head and decent resonant head. Both in black diamond pearl finish. All Seams are in great shape with not bubbles or cracking anywhere on either drum. Minor normal wear and tear in some spots on the wrap. And the hoops could stand to be repainted. Rack tom stamped 1962. Please email your name and number If interested. Thanks!

And I also attached the pictures,

Thank you,

Jeff C

$250 is not a bad price, offer $150 because of the missing original parts. I don't think a snare and floor tom would be that hard to find, especially in that finish. Do you like the bdp?

Hi Jeff,

You know the drill, off less, much less... I've always liked BDP, but never owned a kit in that 'flavor'.

Leedy's are great drums.

OK, so not so great of a find then huh? Are there lots of Leedy drums from the sixties floating around?

I think these are cool looking but I already have two kits missing floor toms.

You'd more likely find a Slingy FT and snare- you could replace the Slingy lugs with Leedy's.Leedy lugs show up on 3bay fairly often.

I think $250 is all the money.$150 is more like it.

It looks as though Slingerland made the Leedy drums from 1956-1956, if I am reading it correctly from the history page from the Leedy site.
