I'm Feeling The Pressure...What Do I Sell? Last viewed: 3 hours ago

RogerSling...very well said. You know, at the end of the day, I could probably "get away" with not selling anything else...BUT, everytime there is some disagreement, it will always come back up. For me, I'm not really a collector and certainly could give up one of my snares. I've kind of gotten to a point where I have one of whatever I was interested in owning, aside from my two Tama snares.

I agree with Kev...there will always be another snare. There always seem to be lots of Sound Kings around and fewer Powertones. As said above by many, I will play both and see what I prefer...then sell the one I like least.

At this point, if I sell one snare it will make me look like I did what she wanted and the issue will go away.Coffee Break2

I appreciate all the feedback...even the ones to change wives LoLoLoLo.

Thanks very much!

If you know that the sale of one snare drum could make disagreements much less uncomfortable, then that snare is worth it's weight in gold!!!! After all, it's just a drum!!!

Good luck!!!

You know it!!!!Yes Sir

Nobody (well maybe) can say I didn't try....I've sold off:

-Late 60's Slingy 10-lug Aluminum

-Two pretty nice Sound King Shells

-Four or five strainers and butt pieces

Still have one Festival shell/lugs (decent cond) to sell off and a set of really beautiful COS 8 lug hoops and a few COB hoops. Also have two or three Slingy snare stands, one is the more hard to come by one with the black plastic adjustment knob.

So, one more snare should really put me in a good light...something that can come in handy down the road!:p

Unless the drum you are selling is a complete mess. . .Don't clean REALLY clean it. give it a good once over. You are just prolonging the inevitable and could be perceived as stalling a bit and you re just gonna torture yourself more. As was said beautifully and realistically before me here. . .Let it go. . You already have an offer from a member here. Negotiate box it ship it. He will be happy to clean it. . . . Good Luck. . . . BOOM

look we all know life has its issues and being married has its own set of needs, to keep things in perspective i've always believed in live and let live, a home is based on mutual giving, sharing, loyalty, and love without ever having to do something one does not want to do. id sell all my kits and single snares for my family if i needed too sacrifice them for the bigger cause, its just a material object snares come and (well some do, some never come back ) go, on the other hand so do wives!!!!!!! when or if the right one comes or is here (is there ever a right one being him or her) in a perfect world we all have the best of the best from people to kits, studios, gigs etc, but its not that way so you have to deal with this life and its ups and downs and everything else it throws at you so when we all leave this world and go to Gods then it will be perfect till then do what you feel is the right thing no matter what anyone else says you do whats best for you and yours God bless :2Cents:

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Wow, Jaghog, that is deep...and very cool.

Okay, last question, since am am not an experienced collector. Consensus, which is a better, more collectable snare...all things being equal....the SK or the Powertone?

With this answer, if there is one, I am done with this issue.

I genually appreciate everyone's comments and insights.

Thanks all!
