No, Leave it as is, let your buyer do the dusting and whatever. (that`s what they`re after) They`re gonna want to see the dirt dust and ageing !!

I want to store it inside the house but it is dropping dust/dirt onto the floor. Are you sure I can't take a feather duster to it?

Okay, but I'm almost too embarrassed to say. It's like one of those crazy scenes you see on Antiques Roadshow. He paid $50!! Just goes to show what can be found if you keep looking.....

I am speechless.

Congrats on the drum find of a century. You should easily get $3,000 for everything you found.

Think of it...Way back in the Roaring 20s, some drummer set up this very set and probably played a speakeasy or fancy hotel lounge and played the Paul Whiteman and Rudy Valley hits of the day. And now, some drummer will once again set these up 82 years later and they will sing once again. Incredible.

Funny that you would say that. It is quite possible that John Peterson, who was the owner of this set, saw Rudy Vallee perform at the Gem Theater right here on Peaks Island since the Peterson's home is only about a block away from where the theater used to stand. I'm told that Mr. Peterson was also in a band that played at the Eastland Hotel in Portland, Maine.

Amazing... and now a provenance! All for fifty bucks...

Fantastic find!

PLEASE PLEASE Do not clean those drums. Put them in a spare room on an old sheet or tarp or something. Let the experts do it.

How old is your boy?

How old is my boy? I'm his mom so he will always be my boy but he is actually a young man of 19.....

The drums are safely up in the spare room and I promise not to touch them.
