How old is my boy? I'm his mom so he will always be my boy but he is actually a young man of 19..... The drums are safely up in the spare room and I promise not to touch them.

Perfect! Yeah you did manage to make a number of folks day with that find. Congrat's!

And yes, I'm about triple the age of your boy and my mom is 87. I'm still her kid. :D

I only have a passing interest in drums of this vintage, but you may want to send some private messages to the more knowledgeable folks that have replied to your thread... vintagemore2000 is a veritable fountain of information, as you have discovered. The purpose for this is that you don't get had by some lowballer. Folks such as him (and I think I read someone had notified Mike Curotto, a deity amongst collectors) will be able to make sure you don't get stung.

Congratulations again! This was an amazing find.

Photos of Tom: This one appears to have been painted over the original finish. The top rim is warped because it is missing 2 of the things that tighten it on. I couldn't find any markings on it.

Those are definitely early leedy lugs. I have 5 of them that were to converta an early 30's tacked bottom radio king to separate tension. I have seen catalog pictures of them used on early Ludwig toms as well. That would put them into at least the Conn era, but I don't know when they started. The base is shaped like the early leedy badge.

Is it possible to find replacements for the 2 lugs that are missing? Also, what do you mean it puts"them into at least the Conn era?

Thanks again for your input.
