Yard Sale find. Ludwig Mod Orange Club Date kit

Loading...

Here they are. I found this 1971 Ludwig Mod Orange Club Date kit (12,14, 20) at a yard sale a few weeks ago. A little polish, and it is stunning. I really had no idea what I had when I bought it, but under the dust, come these. I just thought you all would like to check them out.Excited

Will you be my friend? Burger KinWelcome

HA!

Seriously, that is EXCELLENT!! I see from the pics that much of the dark purple dye has faded to white, but from the looks of the black paint on the hoops, those babies look mint!

At a yard sale? I'd hate to ask...$$$?

Yeah, What kind of deal did you get? Those look great. Wish I could find something like that. I did get a nice vintage premier set off craigs list but put $300 in them restoreing them. But for a total of $375 I got a great vintage set of resonators.

Dang! That is too much! Nice snag! How much did you pay for it? (I'm sure I'm not the only one interested...)

Would you believe $300? At some point someone had mounted an early 70's double tom mount on the set, but I took it off and put the original back on. If you notice, there is also an extra cymbal holder mounted at the very top of the bass. I covered the extra holes that were drilled for the double tom mount with a 3" x 5" piece of guitar pickguard that has a photo image of the mod orange adheared to it. The original mount holds the patch in place perfectly. The fix actually came out really nice. I have the original bass pedal as well. I really wish I could keep the set, but as you can see in the picture, they are sitting right in the middle of the livingroom. Going to sell it. That's not quite what my wife had in mind for decor. lol
