Yes, that was a thought, too. Unfortunately, we are renting a small house until we can get our house (and my shop) built, and we are running out of room.

Not sure about the toms but I would definitely get that bass drum together. Here are some things you could do with it:

Use it as a bass drum for a unique kit

Use it as an aux bass drum with remote pedal (ala Stanton Moore among many others)

As mentioned, this would make a pretty cool woofer.

Add 4 tom mounting brackets. That would allow you to use two for standard gull wing spurs for the two above mentioned usages but also allow you to mount it on two cymbal stands on opposing mounts for a mounted bass drum like Purdie mentioned. Similar to a gong bass drum only without the oversized head. I have a Premier bass drum of the same size that I am working in right now and doing that exact thing. It is really popular now to have toms and bass drums downstage so the entire band can become a percussion ensemble of sorts. Having a 28" drum that could mount on stands or even floor tom legs would be seriously cool.

I would have left the wrap on the BD, and used the toms for the rest of the set. a little unusual, but it would sound nice.

Chromeo, Chromeo! lol Same goes for Robyn! Actually, I do have all the pieces. Wouldn't take much to put the lugs back on and mount the old heads again. It is missing a single T-rod & claw, but is otherwise in very good shape. The wood hoops are pretty beat-up, but could be refinished quite easily. All of the wrap is intact and uncracked, not even noticably faded. And there ARE two factory-drilled holes for eye-bolts to suspend it, or maybe a stand mount.

In fact, I'd love to trade it or sell it to someone for parts to finish my old 17" L&L snare:

As another one falls for parts/lampshades,etc. that means there are fewer of them adding future value no matter what year, style, size, make or model. That remains to be seen... but as a rule of thumb-you are helping to make it more rare.Always an interesting thought and has added much value to many collectables of all types and some we would never think of as becoming collectable in time. One gone is one less here...
