Nuff with the bulb already. I'm not Traps the wonder boy and it's 2013 not 1913. NOBODY uses bulbs anymore and I just really want to play this thing. It's the reason why I'm shelling out so much of my retirement funds to get it! lolJohn

Yes, nuff with the bulb. The socket belongs stored safely in a sealed bag, otherwise it's just one more thing to loosen and rattle as you play. For this reason, I removed the sockets from my late '30s Ludwig Timp. Although I must say, the underlighting provided by those warming lights always cast a creepy, errie glow on the drummer's face which could be a neat effect at any gig. Just tape a flashlight to your snare stand facing upward, and everyone will think you have the warming light in place.:p

Tom isn't home from work yet, so I'm awaiting confirmation, but... I sent a certified bank check yesterday via express overnight delivery. According to the tracking info, it's 'out for delivery.'

Tom wrote to me last night and told me he would be mailing the drum today, or tomorrow at the latest. If he sends it USPS Priority Mail, I'll have it by Tues. if not earlier.

I'll keep you guys posted. Waiting for confirmation from Tom that he is in receipt of my funds.

LOL - It'll have to be taken at somebody else's house! I don't have a pool!

Unless, that puddle that forms in the middle of the yard, when it rains real hard, counts!

---Quick story: When I was about 6 years old, I watched my old man go air-borne after receiving a monster shock from the back of an old TV set. In those days, the only way to find out which tube was giving you problems was to go 'tube-tapping.' My old man must have touched something he wasn't supposed to, and all I heard was a loud POP! Next thing I see is my father sailing across the room and landing on his back. He was fried! To this day, I'm paranoid around anything electrical. My fathers hair smelled like burned chicken feathers! No thank you!---

I don't know if it rocketed him into the future... but his life up to that point did pass before his eyes! LOL

I heard from Tom: He got the $ and the drum is on the way! The man double packed it for safe-keeping from the postal gorillas who like to bounce $hit off the walls before they process it. It'll get here safe I'm sure.

Now the nail biting wait begins.... pity da po' fool!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
