Slingerland Avante in Sparkling Orange Pearl

Nice find. Can't make out all the serials but you've got some low 5-digits (11xxx snare, 15xxx RT & FT, 33xxx 13" RT). Late '70 ,early '71? Can you post the serials? It would also be nice to know if the interiors are clear or have the weak milk chocolate stain. Thanks for sharing, not a lot of these to look at.

If memory serves me right they’re clear interiors.

I’m trying to upload the photos of the interior and serial numbers however it’s saying it was missing a security feature. I’ll link the imgur link as that seems to be my only option. The pictures are done smallest drum to largest with the gene krupa being the last. Let me know what you think!

Very nice set ! Same type shells as my Avante set. Look how nice and thick those rerings are. I think these shells are the best ever made by Slingerland. Mine are the same age but larger sizes. I am not a fan of the double tom holder but do like the single tom holder. If I use the complete set I use 13" and 14" tom up on snare stands and the 15" down on a rims and low floor tom stand next to the 18", and the top part of a cymbal stand in the second bass drum tom holder. You can configure all type of set up's with that set.

Thanks ! You should hang on to that set. I love that sparkle . I can't believe that with all the beautiful wraps offered whoever owned mine originally would choose plain red, or maybe that was what was in the store and they wanted them right then. I played a gig on them last month with Just the 13" up on the single tom holder and 18" floor tom . I have also used the 14" up and the 18", or the 13" up and 15" down as the floor tom. I have never set them in up in their intended positions as I am afraid to put that much stress on the 24" bass drum shell even though I have double Spurs. I have just used the front Spurs with a bass drum ancor on the front hoop.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous kit. It’s not my dream kit but I definitely love it! I just recently sold my blue ripple stageband with matching 8 lug snare about a month ago so I had a void to fill and this just seemed to fall into my lap! https://imgur.com/a/IQ3qQyS

Wow, real sweet! I've never seen the orange sparkle in person. That indeed is rare! I agree with my friend Vibes. I'd keep it. I have a Sparkling Maroon Pearl Avante set. Mine is missing the original 14" so I had to improvise. The rest of the set has 698xx, 698xx, 705xx, 706xx, 706xx. The 14" I had re-wrapped, its S/N is 575xx. The good people here on this site suggested my set to be '71 or '72. I agree. Your S/N's I would think are maybe '69 or probably '70. As Vibes also correctly stated, the beauty of the set is it's versatility. I have mine set up now with the 12,13 and 14 (on a stand) across with the 16 obviously on the floor. The person who owned the set before me put a Ludwig cymbal holder on the 22" bass drum, below the right side tom. I left it there, and have set up the ride cymbal off the BD, with the 13 on the left, the 14 on the stand, the 16 on the floor. It works great any way you set it up. I've included a few photos of some of my setups below. I may be interested in buying them, I'm into rare sets.....let me know! Good luck and thanks for posting the pics. They are beautiful!!

72-ish looks good for your set however '69-early/mid '70 can be ruled out for the Sparkling Orange set as the badges were different. With the 33xxx serial 71-ish for the Sparkling Orange set.
