Nice! I recently scored a similar kit minus the snare and the 12 inch tom and man do they sound fantastic. I still have not had a chance to clean mine up because I can't even bring myself to break em down and have any down time from playing them. And I usually cannot wait to break em down and start shining em up! Great score! Here are a couple shots of mine:

Nice..The bass hoops on mine are kinda tore up too. Was it common to run two toms the same size? Ive seen a lot Gretsch kits with the same size mounted toms I was wondering about the difference in the bass tensioning rods too

All the major drum companies did it up until the late 60's would offer two of the same size toms.

I just realized those were 2 x13's. That does happen quite a bit as vintagemore pointed out. I am guessing my kit is just a bit older then yours because you have the later Gretsch tension rods on the kick and you have the diamond plate floor tom leg mounts versus the gladstone style on mine. Both have the silver sealer and no tags plus the 3 ply shell so I am guessing pretty close in age.

Yes! My bass drum came with two Pratt mufflers. Yours are set up so that they align on the same panel. Mine came with them on alternate panels. Don't know if this was a custom order, but they did come with two Pratts. Your's is pretty cool!

Whoa Nellybell, brooch. What a kit. You can tune those 13"s so they sound great together. I have a kit with two 13"s and they sound fantastic. Ska punk, yours is nice too. Wish I had something like those.

Great find! What a great kit to have for your studio. Please ditch those clear/black dot heads. CryBaby Get some old reliable Remo Ambassadors for the tops and bottoms, but they might be a little tight. The new Evans 360 heads might fit a little better, because of the collar design. You could also get fancy a couple of ways:

Coated Evans 360 G1 (1-ply) or G2 (2-ply) on the top and G1 on the bottom

Coated Evans 360 G1 (1-ply) or G2 (2-ply) on the top and the Evans Genera Resonant head on the bottom
I just did the second option on my son's Gretsch kit and it sounds fantastic. It had Remo Ambassadors too.

If you don't mind sharing what you paid, it gives forums members hope that these kits still exist. :D

Thanks for posting.
