If any can share there expertise with me i would appreciate any info.

After a bit of researching I am guessing late 50s??

There are 2-13x 9 toms

20 x14 kick

16 floor tom

and the snare is 5 1/2

Other than being filthy and some separation of the WMP. I think they will clean up nicely. there are no extra holes or cracks in the wrap The bottom rim on one of the toms is smaller.

Did they ever paint the 3 ply drums??

I should say I am NOT a drummer! I wanted these for my studio

I can put up more pics if needed

I just want to make these original.

They are late 50's some of teh 3 ply did get painted I wasn't able to tell if teh painted are 3 ply the pic was to blurry, but if the painted drums have teh same ply make as the one that had the good clear pic then they are also 3ply. man you have a home run here. the white rubber feet on the floor tom are date it from the 50's also.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

The rim on this drum is a Premier die cast...

The floor tom has "Stick chopper" rims...as it should...as it is a 3 ply....

Can't tell about the other drums...

PS..does the bass drum have the complete Pratt mufler in it?>>I see a felt strip on the front head..

Get rid of that Black Dot head ASAP! Yuk!

Please take more pics.........put 10-20 more on here...no one will mind.....

OH! First things first...please set them up "as is"..and take pics...when you are done with these ...you will not recognize them!

Pop the heads off ALL drums (top/bottom)..as you are going to want to dismantle these completely,and polish everything...

shoot closeups of the bearing edges..

You might as well start ordering new heads and a Gretsch drumset logo decal for the front BD head.....

Sweet find this late in the game...where did you get these?..Gretsch made more WMP in the 50's for some reason then 60's.....

The Premier is on one of the toms.all the rest are the same

Going to be tough to find stick chopper 13 and 16's though...

They are out there..might take a year or two to find!

Must have been custom ordered..Gretsch would do that..

That explains the rail mount at 12 'O Clock for the 2 toms also...they didn't offer a double tom mount then!

I am in no hurry!! I want these to be right. About ten years ago i was forced to sell a Pristine mid 60s RB kit . I am a guitar player but i like to dabble on drums but mainly

I just want a great kit set up for recording and to save drummers the hassle of lugging their kits around for rehearsals.

I will try to get more pics this weekend
