This was one of those "chrome" over wood numbers. Black & White badge, kinda beige granitone interior. Every week w/ brushes, sounds good with sticks too!

very nice! those are some of my favorite over achieving sleeper drums. ive got a 5x14 covered in the new galaxy reissue wrap and ive got a 6.5x14 covered in some new old stock 70's sky blue pearl from mr. blaemire via jerry jenkins.

i will probably still end up buying another original in the chrome wrap and the blue olive badge with bowties or rocker lugs. these are some nice jazz festivalish sounding drums...

It's a TIE between these two Ludwig Jazz Festival snares.

These are my workhorse snare drums for the recording studio.

Each drum has its own distinct tone due to the shell construction.

#1. 1965 shell: African Mahogany/Poplar/African Mahogany/Wrap.

(maple reinforcing rings)

#2. 1967 shell: Maple/Poplar/African Mahogany/Wrap.

(maple reinforcing rings)

Those are gorgeous! I've been lusting for a 60s blue oyster pearl kit for several years.
