Great Set, Great story, Super Mom! Love those cymbals, I have a 602 20" Med Ride that is sweet! Check eBay for values (although it's not the greatest place to sell unless your a shipping guru). Original owner, no mods, complete set is an asset. Best of luck to you.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

If you decide to sell the cymbals outright, consider me interested! I've been looking for a set of 602's.

Thanks,

Ray

Silver Sparkle Hollywood set. I had one exactly like it when I was 15. Still have the snare, cymbal stands, and high hat stand. That's a nice African mahogany set. Mine was anyway.

Vintagemore2000 there are no serial numbers on the cymbals. Here are some extra shots of the some of the bags and an outside picture. These are my current thoughts. I collect other stuff and I know that original (i.e. unmolested) items are a rarity so I am not going to split this set up. I do appreciate all the inquiries for the cymbals and while I did search on ebay for 5 piece Ludwig sets I did not surf for Pastie cymbals so thank you for the push in the right direction. I do see that they have resumed production of the 602s. I would think the older, embossed, pre-serial number ones are worth more. Guess I am getting closer to figuring out the full set value. Still have not got an indication from any of the members here though. Thanks for any information you can provide. John

In my unqualified opinion the kit is worth $100 bucks and I'll take it ASAP. Do you want cash, silver coins, or gold bullion??? LOL - WoW great kit, I'm sure you'll get top dollar!! Good Luck.

I do want to thank everyone for the positive posts here. Vibes... cool about us being about the same age when we got our sets. After I had a few lessons I became a closet drummer....and like I said for a few years I never touched them... then after college, once I move home I started playing again in earnest, playing REO Speedwagon and Journey like the best of us (what was that late 70's early 80's). Boy did my ears suffer... LOL LOL LOL Got married in 85 and bam had a kid and bought a house (not in that order -- can anyone say shotgun wedding). Never touched the drums again. Funny thing, when I set these up for the picture (and the tom toms were not adjusted I just had to sit at the seat and play a bit. My current wife thought it was cool... and I told her not to comment to heavily as then I would end up keeping them. I am a bit of a hoarder and I am way too heavily involved in my 22 year passion for what I currently collect to keep these much longer. John

Again when I do figure out (hopefully from a few people here) (mcdrummer I think Ill pass on the $100 offer) what these are worth you would be getting the 5 piece drum set, all the stands and cymbals, seat, Speed King peddle, Bags, a labeled bottle Ludwig new Cymbal polish, brushes. Ill probably keep my sticks... sentimental fool that I am. Guess everyone is afraid to offer an opinion of the value so I might be forced to put these into the for sale section before I get in trouble with the moderators trying to sell something in the discussion section. I'll give it just a little more time for people rendering an opinion as to the value (and I won't nag any more --> promise). Then I will officially put them in the for sale section. Course you can pm offers anytime.

Beautiful. Not a penny under $2000. $2500 would still be a reasonable asking price. And they're worth it. I could be off (low). If my mom bought those for me and I kept them so nice for that long, I wouldn't sell.
