Need some information on 1969 Ludlug 5 pc set Last viewed: 5 seconds ago

Hi. I think you folks are going love me. I am new here and have decided to sell my drum set that I bought (well actually my mom bought them for me) in 1969 from what I can tell from the serial numbers. I can't remember the year as in 1969 I was 15 which seems about right. I am in this section to get an idea of what they are worth. (as I said I'm new here and you don't seem to have a value section) They are silver metalflake. What I remember most when they finally came (I had to order the set color I wanted) in was that the salesman told me the legs for the bass drum were curved and I was one of the first to get them because he had ever seen them that way as it was a style change. As I said 5 piece set with Paste cymbals. These were never band played nor transported anywhere - once bought they stayed at the house though they may have made it to my college dorm room one college year (can't remember after all it was the early 70's - LOL LOL), then to my house when I got married in 1985 where they have resided until today (I'm divorced so I finally moved them to my current house--> I know TMI). They have not been played in close to 28 years and even the early years there were several years that these did not get touched. I should point out that my mom (she is still alive at 96 was great, as she bought me the leather? black bags for all of them so when they were not being used they were in the bags (bags are stamped inside with the date 11-68). All have their original weather master heads. So here are some pictures and since I will be listing this in the for sale section, if it is not against the rules I wold prefer that you either pm me with your thoughts on their value or email me. If you need more pictures, ask and I will provide them. Oh ok let me point out the couple of minor blemishes (there really are not any per say). On the back of the bass where the peddle attaches it is worn slightly. As to be expected there are a few minor nicks where obviously the stand for the cymbals had to be tightened down, where my foot went into the bass peddle the right side has the gunmetal grey paint worn away and really lastly almost all of the little rubber nubs for the legs have to be replaced (I have them but most are cracked --> the ones for the bass legs, since it was in the bag out of the ozone (sunlight) are actually in real good shape) Thanks for any information you can provide. John

Are the Paiste cymbals,, 602's? the Ludwig hardware is collectible, from the pictures and your description, the kit's color is faded Champagne sparkle wrap. the snare drum is the Ludwig supraphonic 400 .

Yes the paste's are 602. I think because of the paneling they look champaign but they really are silver because even though I was leaning towards a color my mom (as smart as she was) told me that if they shined a colored light onto the drums then they would be that color... so I chose the silver metalflake. Thanks for your reply. John

I understand that!! The cymbals a very good thing to do is weight them individually in grams, you can go to the post office and do this or if you have a gram scale. The reason is this gives a rough guide for buyers to follow as to how the cymbal will feel and sound before the purchase and can up the value with this info to you the seller. also are the Paiste logos on the cymbals blue stamped?

I have a postal scale. Thanks good to know. The Pastie 602 is not ink but stamped into the cymbal. I polished them enough to clean them a couple of times. They all still have the dimensions in red ink as well as what they are "High Hat Top" "Thin Crash" etc. Underneath they have in black ink "1204" Thank you for your help/input.

Sure glad to help. photo the logos and stamps marks on the cymbals, your kit is a time capsule and original owner these are the kits that I buy, Original owner matters to me. do you have a price in mind, you can pm it to me if you like?
