I have a question. Why is no one interested in the Slingerland Studio King kit on E-Bay? Is $1550 too much? It is a beautiful kit with great sizes, cast hoops, great shape. Who makes the shells? Keller? Am I missing something here? Were the new cloud badge kits made in Ark? Does that make them junk? I was just wondering. The auction ends in 7 hours and nobody has bid on them. What would be a fair price for them?
Cloud badge StudioKing
Boscoe, these are gibson era 1994 they are top of the line, modern sounding not vintage sounding! do you like the sizes of this kit, I personally don't but that's me! also you aren't getting the snare drum, but for the quality and the money's about right, also this is Cherie willoughby that's selling the kit!

Boscoe, while they are good kits, this is just my opinion, they are not vintage. This is a vintage forum, so most guys would not pay that price. secondly, they don't carry the value even though they are made in the USA, Slingerland wasn't really Slingerland anymore when that kit was made. Do you have a link to it on ebay?

You could get one killer vintage Slingy kit for that price. Thats my only take about the newer stuff. They are nice quality modern kits, if thats what you're after. But $1500 goes a long way in the vintage Slingerland world.
Thanks VM, I keep forgetting that this sight is blocked . I have to wait until I get home to see it.
I have played multiple modern Slingerland kits like this for shows, tours etc. In my opinion, these kits are always overpriced. The hardware is awful and the drums have a very generic sound. Personal opinion.
1970 SS Badge, Blue Satin Flame 22,13,16
1962 Tangerine sparkle, Gretsch. 18, 12,14, 5x14
1960's/70's Slingerland 18,12,14 silver sparkle
194? Slingerland "Rolling Bomber" Blue/white Duco 28,13,14,7x14
1940's Radio Kings. 26,13,16 WMP finish
Gretsch Anniversary sparkle 22,13,16, 5.5x14
Slingerland being as undervalued as they are, you could get Two vintage sets for that price.
Yeah ! Yeah !
There you go, I knew I could get some straight answers from you guys. I knew they would sound modern but you're right for the same money or less you could choose from lots of good sounding vintage drums.
This is probably a sore spot and if there is something in the archives point me there but what is the deal with Cherie Willoughby? She(he), I don't even know that, seems to have lots of vintage drums but everybody seems to shy away from her/him.

My dealings with her have always been very good, but I've known her a long time, she was going threw a tough time here of late but has seemed to of worked it out!
