I am looking at buying a Rogers drum kit, but have some concerns about the lugs on the drums. The owner seems to know very little about the kit, and the lugs almost appear to be slingerland. Can someone tell me if Rogers ever produced kits with the lugs on the attached pic?
The drums appear to have a natural interior and are a Butcher Block wrap, but the lugs consern me.

EEK! What the heck? Looks like Rogers mounts on a Slingerland kit with a Ludwig wrap. What the heck, indeed....
Slingerland, as far as I know, did not make a kit with that wrap.
Ludwig and Rogers both did.
Those sure as heck look like Slingerland lugs?
That is definitely Rogers hardware.

Those lugs could even be MIJ. I have done some more research and I am about to upset the apple cart. Looks like Star actually designed the Sound King lugs for Bud Slingerland, and that, gentlemen...and ladies..is why Star lugs are almost perfectly identical. Don't bash me, it is in the grey world of offshore design houses that these things happen. Bud did not sue Star because they actually owned the rights to the Sound King lugs and sold the lisencing to Slingerland. Now, go buy those drums, 200 is a deal, even if they turn out to be MIJ shells....which I highly doubt. I also have never seen that wrap on any MIJ kits. But....stranger things happen here on a daily basis, so they could be anything at this point.
No!!! Not Roger's lug's at all..the lug's in photo 1 and last one are lug's M.I.J. and are copy's of slingerland lug's..i would say set is a M.I.J. set with Roger's bass leg's and tom mounts...Mikey

Where did you find this tidbit? Those are the 1955 lugs we're speaking of. Star did that in 54 or 55? Why was I not informed?! BENTLEY!!! COME IN HERE! NOW!!!
But did they have the Butcher block wrap then?

I did some investigating,with the possibility the previous owner replaced broken B+B's with MIJ Slingy copies-the catalog scans show no wood finishes during the B+B era,let alone Butcher Block.So,we are left with Rogers beavertail era and Ludwig for Butcher Block,or an import I'm not aware of.And,the covering of that drum looks like wood,not cortex.What about the Duplexes?
*Fibes also made Butcher Block,but that does not apply here...
