Slingerland (DuAll) - What is it?? Last viewed: 5 hours ago

I have a Slingerland drum with DuAll stamped on the top rim as in the pics attached. I have some info from a few helpful collectors on this drum and its history but I would like as much info as I can get my hands on. Some specs: Gold sparkle, nickel plated, parallel snare strainer, internal metal ring, mahogany shell, some unoriginal tension rods and clips. Dan

It's funny how these thinggs come around with such interesting timing sometimes.

The Duall was talked about a bit in this thread:

BTW, that's a cool drum. I have a RK which looks almost identical except it has the RK beavertail lugs.

I can say that you have a solid maple shell....The drum was made at the Beldon Avenue factory...I have no way of knowing now when or make...

thank you so much for the information.

What's the feature that tells you it was Beldon ave?

Congratulations! You have a very rare piece. In fact in all the years I have been collecting vintage drums, that's the first I have seen (intact). And it is even complete with a tone flange! Thanks for sharing.

[COLOR="Navy"]Dan:

Great drum. 1933 DuAll, first version (tone flange and rod), solid mahogany shell, solid maple reinforcing rings. Slingerland factory at that time was at corner of Belden and Ward, Chicago.
