I'm about to re-wrap a Slingerland bass drum to match the 60s snare and toms I have. The finish is called red sparkle pearl, has the blue sparkle on the reverse side. It really looks more like a glass glitter to me. Does anyone know which will be a closer match, red sparkle or red glass glitter?
Matching Slingerland Wrap
Most likely glass ....
Check the finishes section for Slingerland in the Vintage Drum Guide
Sparkle was used very little by Slingerland, but I don't remember the year(s)
But then, there's the fade factor........
Jammin Sam will send you samples.. maybe others do as well.

I have that red sparkle Slingerland bass drum. I noticed the red/blue on the hoop inlays... kind of cool but brittle has heck!

Just added new inlays for my red sparkle Slingies. Glass Glitter is as close as it gets. From what little inlay was left on the hoops, it wasn't originally the red/blue stuff though, FYI. Still, with a few oddball exceptions, Slingerland used the red glass glitter, not sparkle.

Thanks for the replies, I'll order the glass.
Be REAL careful when you handle that wrap. Glass wrap is just that...glass. It is brittle and will break easily. No joke. Handle with care.
You might wanna as whichever place you buy from to send you a swatch (sample) of the glitter first to see if the color match is good enough - they usually do this for free
Thanks for the tips guys!
