The cap is on the drum in the pic. Sounds like someone knew what to do.

OddBall the plastic housing on the strainer is intact

But the cap which I understand is metal and chrome plated? is missing

I see no sign of it in the pic I posted?

Welcome to the hunt.

I can see the strainer, the front of yours should be plastic. the chrome ones were on all chrome strainers and fit.

Not that old but Sonor. And very well built I might add. This little Safari set is a little firecracker. I have played Rock, R&B, To Jazz on these when in a very small tight set up situation.

I know i may ruffle some feathers here on this forum, but as far as i'm concerned, Sonor drums are the finest drums ever made, both vintage and modern. You can't beat German engineering and innovation. Even their intermediate kits look and sound like high end drum kits. One day, the last kit i'll ever purchase will either be a Vintage Series kit, or SQ1. If i ever win the lottery, it'll be an SQ2. Finishes don't matter to me that much, although i've been loving the wood veneer and natural finishes they've been coming out with. Look at this kit. If that's not a thing of beautiful drum craftsmanship, i don't know what is. Sleek, gorgeous, and classy, all at once.
