'69 Luddy Standards...finished! Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Well, after following the great advice of CTMichaelV et al regarding cleaning up the wrap on these, here is the finished product. A few deeper scratches that wouldn't come all the way out, but for a gigging kit, I guess it'll do...circa 1969. I'd say they're....groovy, man.

Very nice. Currently working on polishing up a set in gold strata myself. I don't have the matching snare though.

+1 with everything Mike said about your kit! The first thing I noticed was the shade of the BD hoops, which look great with the wrap! Excellent job all around!

In my never ending one man campaign against "mounted" toms on snare drum stands, I offer you this simple and inexpensive suggestion. Your Ludwig Standard set looks great with the new natural hoops on the bass drum. It appears that you already have the receiver bracket for the tom receiver that is usually found on the upper line of Ludwig drums. My Ludwig Standards had that same bracket. I went online, and bought this Ludwig single tom arm for just a few bucks. It works beautifully, and looks as though it was meant to be on the drum set. This new single tom mount replaced the ugly looking double mount with the second little L arm just sitting there empty.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Great job, and I agree that the bass hoops match the colors well.

Wow, looks great. The hoops set it off. Great choice there.

One of my favorite wraps... My brother bought a 4-pc set of this finish after getting out of the air force in 1970.Cool1

The only issue here is that the rack tom appears to have a Pearl-style bracket, so the Ludwig tom arm won't work.
