'69 Luddy Standards...finished! Last viewed: 59 minutes ago

Thanks for all the comments, y'all. I'm sure loving the kit. The sound from the bass drum alone makes me smile out loud!

I'd love that tom arm leedybdp mentioned (love that Ruby Strata, btw!), but like idrum said, the original tom mount was replaced with a Pearl-style by a previous owner. Don't know if I'll ever use it to actually mount the tom, though, although the tom may have a little more resonance if I did. No tom arms came with the kit when I got it, so I'd have to pick one up somewhere. This is my first foray into using a snare stand to support a rack tom, so we'll see how it goes. I'm digging it so far.

To be honest, I didn't pick out the BD hoops...they were already on it. I totally agree with y'all, though. Whoever put 'em on there chose well. This kit came from a pawn shop in Myrtle Beach, but there was evidence that it had at one time lived in NYC. They took pretty good care of it, though, and did a good job with all the mods y'all see.

After playing a Sonor fusion kit with a 20" kick for the last 25 years, my cymbals look strangely small on this Luddy. May have to upgrade to a 21" ride...
