Floor tom cradle Last viewed: 1 second ago

I was just wondering which one of these is the oldest.

I have never seen any catalogue pics of the first one but many times the second one. The 2nd one is from the same era when they were still selling giant chinese toms, and so called "Tunable tom toms".

Then there was also the snare stand kind of tom tom stand whichs is from the same era with the giant toms yes?

But what about the first one? Which era was that?

The first one is a Walburg & Auge cradle. I have one that came with my 1935 W&A kit.

Linden - to see the W & A kit go to the main page in the restoration section. The W & A thread is pinned at the top of the page. Enjoy the read. If you want to know which era it's from... reread my first response! :D

Hey is for horses! :D

I thought Ludwig too on the second one. Slingerland also had kits in the 30's that used those baskets for the floor toms. Walburg & Auge was supplying many of the big drum companies with hardware at that time. W&A may have made all of them and then they turned up in kits under another company's name.

... and remember, if you're out at night and you're on your bike... wear white! Guitar Dude Man

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
