I was just wondering which one of these is the oldest.

I have never seen any catalogue pics of the first one but many times the second one. The 2nd one is from the same era when they were still selling giant chinese toms, and so called "Tunable tom toms".

Then there was also the snare stand kind of tom tom stand whichs is from the same era with the giant toms yes?

But what about the first one? Which era was that?

The first one is a Walburg & Auge cradle. I have one that came with my 1935 W&A kit.

Not sure if these are any good for a double headed drum....yet.

I thought Ludwig too on the second one. Slingerland also had kits in the 30's that used those baskets for the floor toms. Walburg & Auge was supplying many of the big drum companies with hardware at that time. W&A may have made all of them and then they turned up in kits under another company's name.

Thanks John, i already did, and wow, that kit is so AWESOME!!! This was the first time i saw that kind of blue wrapping :O My first guess was that it is re-wrapped, but i was wrong! You were lucky to find that kind of kit and that it had all those pieces still together!

Just a funny note, I went to a jam the other nite and left tom legs to my down beat home and they had a milk crate , worked great ��
