Country of Origin of Rocker Snare? Last viewed: 22 seconds ago

Loading...

Please, Ludwig guys, I am interested in what I believe is a Rocker snare (black and white badge, rounded corners). The serial number on the badge is 16393 BUT, nowhere can I see "Made in the U.S.A." I know that Rockers were originally made in North Carolina but, later in the mid-eighties, they originated from Taiwan. The only Ludwig I own is a late seventies Supra (my favorite snare!!) so I don't know much about Ludwigs at all. Is this snare probably a Taiwanese outsourced instrument? Thanks for any help at all!

I always thought that black and white Ludwig badge = made in USA. Am I incorrect? I had a Rocker kit with a great chrome over wood snare. Underrated great kit.

Hello, sir:

From what I can tell from the pictures, it is chrome over steel. I am quite sure. Thanks very much for replying, Mark. Your interest in helping me is truly appreciated!

That's what I thought, Mark. Thanks very much for clarifying things for me. I'm going to pass and continue to use my made in the U.S.A. Supra as my main snare!

Good choice my friend, they also made a cheap brass snare just like the steel one that you'd shown. A buddy of mine got one on sale from GC for $99.00.back in 2003 or around that time frame.

Amazing! Thanks to guys like you, Mark, I learn more and more each day! I've especially learned to love and appreciate the vintage tubs that mean so much to us! Thank you very much for your kindness and patience.
