If they advertised it as that, then no, I don't think they did.
Looks very nice either way, although the price would have to reflect whatever it actually is.

It used to be Midnight Blue Pearl, which eventually discolored and became Midnight Liver. I took the kit to the late LA drum maker Paul Bleifuss, who removed the finish and buffed the wood below. I find this natural color and wood grain to be very attractive. I'm glad you asked and I should have mentioned this on the description. Dang. I'll see if I can edit my entry.

Unusual not to see multiple veneer pieces on the outer ply of wrap drums. That kit is a good candidate for a lacquer finish.
