It used to be Midnight Blue Pearl, which eventually discolored and became Midnight Liver. I took the kit to the late LA drum maker Paul Bleifuss, who removed the finish and buffed the wood below. I find this natural color and wood grain to be very attractive. I'm glad you asked and I should have mentioned this on the description. Dang. I'll see if I can edit my entry.

Unusual not to see multiple veneer pieces on the outer ply of wrap drums. That kit is a good candidate for a lacquer finish.
