I will be putting all the hardware back on my Vistalite shells within the next couple of weeks. When putting the lugs back on the shells, is there guidance out there as to an official screw torque level or guidance for how tight the mounting screws for the lugs inside the shell should be-obviously I know not too tight so I don't crack the shell but looking for some advice here-first time I have taken a kit like this apart........
Vistalite shells/screw torque
Noble and Cooley Walnut snare
Noble and Cooley Horizon 6 piece kit in blue sparkle
2002 Noble and Cooley 4 piece Studio Classic in natural maple
Nov 3 1967 Ludwig chrome Supraphonic
1990s Pearl Session Custom in Amber fade
20 Zildjians
1984 Tama Superstar Bell Brass Snare
Noble and Cooley natural cherry snare
The question was asked on DFO [googled it] and the only answer was "snug". Unfortunately I can't add anything to that, but it seems right. Too bad there are not lock washers on there as ~just~ flattening them would be the answer...
Are there gaskets? They would help but tightening things to rigid surfaces is tricky.

The 'official level' of torque is... wait for it... snug!
As long as you don't -over tighten- (so that the screw won't turn any more) you'll be fine and so will your shells. Over tighten and watch the spider cracks form around the lugs over time. It's vistalite which is a brittle substance. Too much pressure and cracks happen.

As soon as i saw the topic title, I honestly thought "snug" in my mind as well! I think that's the word for it though.

You know what, if I was doing this I'd add rubber or plastic or even fabric "washers" to the mix, whether they came with that kind of thing or not. I'd source some that fit right under the attached mounting-screw washers, invisible. Frankly, bolting to such a rigid surface with no buffer seems like bad design on Ludwig's part - bad design you don't have to live with.

There are gaskets-this is the first time I have ever pulled a kit apart like this; hand washing and polishing every piece of chrome; havent gotten to the shells yet but bought all the novus stuff people on this forum told me about-many thanks!
The bass drum has those curved kind of bass drum legs-any idea if the make them or what the part number is to try and find the rubber feet that goes over them?
Thanks again,,,,,
