Pedal Info Last viewed: 6 hours ago

So I picked up this Pedal off a guy from Facebook. Got it to go along with my 1938 Ludwig & Ludwig kit. The beater is missing , as is one wing screw where the pedal attaches to the bass drum. Aside that looks really clean. Can anyone shed light on possible year this was made? Value ( not that I plan to sell, wondering if I got it at a great price ) and the reason for the second shaft for a beater to fit into.

I believe the second shaft is for a cymbal clanger

That is what I thought. But the clangers I've seen ( and the one I have ) works perfectly on the center shaft beater. So would there have been a mini rod that it went on?

Might be a combination ....

I see that footboard in the pedal section of our Drum Guide....a Ludwig and Ludwig, but the rest of the apparatus looks different...?

I did a quick search and this came up as a 1924 pedal ( all the ones show the second shaft ) could this have been one of those early " double " pedals?

Found this photo of another one with the clanger.

That's awesome. My next guess was going to be something along those lines. Especially since most bass drums in those days were 26" or larger. Wonder how it would sound with a beater in each side.
