Have a handful of Old A's that I am listing today. Will post individual pics, some descriptions and sound files of each. Please pm me here or email to mikelayton@bellsouth.net if you have any questions. These are all really nice cymbals. I just simply have too many and need to sell a few. If you are interested in one, feel free to make me a reasonable offer via pm or email. Each will be shipped quickly and be fully insured. I had a couple of these listed previously. Wanted to consolidate them here and also lowered the prices as well. Thanks as always.

Mike

1/ This is a beautiful Avedis Zildjian Trans stamp Type III ('50-'52) measuring 19 1/8". This one weighs 1922 grams. It is not paper thin and it's not heavy. Cymbal is easily flexed in your hands and crashes easily. Has a wonderful ride sound and a full bell. This would be a perfect left side cymbal, but also has enough volume to be used as a main ride or a stand alone crash. The sound will not disappoint! There is a keyhole as shown in the picture. There are a few edge bites as expected on a cymbal of this age. No cracks or damage. This appears to be an early 50's factory brilliant. This will be a nice cymbal to add to your arsenal/collection. Suitable for most all types of music in my opinion.

2/ These are my favorite cymbals by far. This cymbal sounds great. Have another much like it though, so looking for a new home for this one. This is a mid 50's Avedis Zildjian 22" Hollow Block stamp model. Has a nice dark golden hue to it with natural unpolished patina. Cymbal has one small edge crack that is 3/8" long and I have priced it accordingly(crack has now been filed out). It does not appear to have a negative effect on the sound. Has a keyhole in the bell with no cracks. This one is 2763 grams. A nice medium in these cymbals. The cymbal can be flexed in your hands and has a beautiful quick crash. Bell sound is warm and open like many from this era. Has nice varied lathing and beautiful hammering that gives it a dark vintage sound. Has a beautiful stick to it yet opens up quickly if needed. This cymbal would be suited well for most all types of music. You can see some wavy marks on the underside of the cymbal. I've had a couple more Block stamp models that have had this feature. Pricing this one at a reduced rate based on the crack repair that shouldn't cause any issues!

3/ Now this is a special cymbal! This is a vintage Avedis 24". Hard to pinpoint the exact era on this one. The stamp is 1 3/16" with the three dots. The extensive hammering on this one leads to suspect it being one of the mid 50's "scratch your head stamps" or an early cymbal that was later stamped. Hard to say for sure. I have a 24" Trans stamp and Block stamp and the hammering on those is far less impressive compared to this one. Weight is 3127 grams. I had one of these that was less than 3000 grams and this one plays much lighter than it did. Plays easily hundreds of grams less than it's weight. Flexes easily in your hands and has a good bit of wobble to it. Has some keyhole on the bell, but no cracks. Edges are nice. Nice natural golden patina. Crashes wonderfully. Dark in sound and low in pitch. Lots of varied ride sounds as well. This is a special one that would be priced much higher if it had the Trans stamp on it, but yet this one is far more complex than my 24" Trans stamp cymbal. So here's your possible grail cymbal at a reduced price.

4/ This one is much like cymbal number two. Even has the same 3/8 crack. I have chosen not to file this one out. Will be glad to do so if you desire at no additional cost. The crack is at the 11 o'clock area in relation to the conventional playing area. I hear no rattles or hums or anything like that. This one weighs 2773 grams. This one is a little higher in pitch than the other 22. It also wobbles quite a bit and appears to thin out towards the edge of the cymbal. Like the other ones that I am listing, it sounds great and will give you all kind of different sounds. It crashes very easily and the ride sounds are fantastic. It has some keyhole at the bell. This one is more lively and explosive in comparison to it's 2763 grams counterpart, not as dark and smokey. Has a few edge flea bites that are common on a 60 year old cymbal. Based on the flexibility, wobble and crash sound, it plays much like some I have in the 2500 weight range. This is an exciting cymbal from a wonderful era. Pricing it below what I think it's worth due to the small edge crack only. This one's gonna make someone happy!
