Camco foot pedal... Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

This pedal came with a set that I just purchased. I've never seen this particular design before and can't find information on line. I'm guessing its either a very early version or perhaps some of the parts are not factory? Check out the front, how and where the strap attaches. Its actually very smooth and surprisingly quiet.

Any info would be appreciated.

Hey SC!

That one had me confused, too! Almost ready to say it had some MIJ parts on it...until...I found this. Check it out from 1965. It's the Camco Standard Pedal. It was actually listed in our VintageDrumGuide!

Mystery solved!

Thanks Mark. Right under me own nose!

I thought the pedal board with the stars were earlier in the Oaklawn era.

I really like the feel of the pedal which I'm guessing is a result of the strap installing as it does.

Thanks again.

Glad to help! I had to do a Google search to stumble onto a picture of the Camco posted on our VDG sight! So, right under my own nose, too!

late 50s ad:

My pedal came with a late 50's George Way set. If this ad is from the late 50's then Camco made foot pedals for GW and other companies before the takeover?

I look for those early footboards with the star to go with late 50s Rogers drums as shown in their catalogs with the drums offered then.

Beautiful set Gary. I'd love to play and hear the 3 ply Rogers from that era.

What you're looking at is the precursor to DW's 5000 series pedals, and Tama's Camco pedal. I'm not sure of the history, but i believe when DW bought the Camco design, Tama also had their own version..It is quite confusing, but i could be wrong.. Whatever the case, you can clearly see the design in the DW 5000 and Tama Camco Pedals.. Cool find and a nice historical piece ..
