Better to sell odd Rogers Timbale Twin kit or part out?

Loading...

I have a non typical Rogers Timbale Twin kit. It's got a double bass drum, neither of which have mounts for toms since it was made to complement timbale twins on a stand. Kit also includes both 14“ and 16" floor toms toms and 5 line dynasonic snare. Wrap is blue onyx and I believe it's vintage 1969.

I'm seriously thinking of getting rid of it, but don't think there will be a lot of interest for it as a Kit... leaning toward parting out . Any thoughts?

Sell timbales separate. Pick up a matching tom and try selling as double bass set. Or pick up 2 toms and split into 2 sets.

I'd try to sell it as is first. A combo you don't see everyday if it's original. Never know someone might be looking for a original configuration. Would like to see pictures too.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

I agree with Glenn, not a kit you see everyday. Try selling all as originally configured.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Hard to find kit...Try selling complete God a Cpl weeks...(collectors should come calling)

Otherwise, Bingo...I agree ,..next best option...

Sell timbales sep,...lots of $$

Then get a Cpl of 13" and sell as 2 kits..

I think I'm going to put some fliers in local music stores to see if I can get a sale without the hassle of having to ship.

I agree selling this as a complete set is going o be hard brake it up sell timbales separately, you can get up to $1000 just for them provided that you have all the parts, such as cowbell mount. Make two sets and sell them right out you will make more money than selling as a complete set. Also it does not look like the original set that came with that set up in 1967. Does the timbales have a tags that reads Humberto Morales on them? Because this was part of the logo for this set also.

Yes, they are tagged Humberto Morales. And it is the original set, I was there when it was purchased around 1969 or 70. I think I have the cowbell somewhere. And I believe the one floor tom is a 14".

They were played till 1973 or so and then stored in a closet till 2010, when my son started taking drum lessons. He subsequently lost interest and now they are sitting in my closet.
