Sea Green Pearl Slingerland Radio Kings

Loading...

I finally got around to photographing this unusual late 30's-early 40's Radio King set. The photos are not that good but I thought i'd share them here. I had this set at the Chicago Drum show a few times, so some of you have probably seen it. The sizes are 14x24 (cut down from a 28 to a 24), 9x13, 16x16 and 6.5x14. Very few Radio Kings were made in Sea Green and to my knowledge, there are no other examples of a complete set in this finish.

Very cool kit. Did you have the bass drum adjusted? If so, why an how?

Or was it already cut down when you bought it?

It was cut down many, many years ago. Probably late 40's.

Cut down the diameter? I'd love to see how that was done.

I saw the green banjo. Was that the one that we were talking about before I thought you should buy? Or is this one you already had?

No, I actually bought it recently. The other one we discussed was the Slingerland version, which was even nicer.
