Slingerland Chrome Over Wood? Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Loading...

Looking at picking up a slingerland kit...coming from using a 24/13/16/18 ludwig 3-ply kit...love the punchiness and warmth of slingerlands which makes me want to switch (also the price!). This particular kit is $950 out the door, and I think its a bit overpriced. Sizes are 26/13/14/16/16, mixed between 3-ply and 5-ply. Thoughts on price? Or should I hold off and wait for another kit?

I just answered you on facebook. the 5 ply shells are louder also with a harder sound than the 3 ply shells. but they mix well together.

Price? Fair or too high?

I think it's a fair price if you like the cow, I mean, it has a 26" kick!

I would say these are $200 overpriced. Great drums but limited resale value. I'm a fan but the COW is like butcher block. People either love em or they don't.

There was a person here a couple years ago you have a similar kit for $650 as I recall and kept lowering the price. I think they went for $500-550.

I don't think, in all my years of drumming, I have EVER seen a 26" Slingerland kick drum. Unless some of the big names played them- Nigel Olsen, Bev Bevan etc...

I'm really torn. Price is $934 total. I could probably $300 back from selling one of the floor toms, snare, and a rack. But i still don't like the wrap . Was thinking I could strip and refinish, but that's a project.

I wouldn't sale off the other drums. Believe me when I tell you this, stripping of the chrome wrap will be the hardest wrap you've ever removed. I've done it once, NEVER again will I !!
