There was a Joe Morello model with metal tips and I think there's one on eBay right now.

I do remember metal sticks with plastic tips. Hated them. Metal tips sound even worse.

Youre right. There are some script logo Ludwig 17 LMT metal tip sticks on ebay right now. One of them is missing the tips or i'd be after them. A forum member sold a pair recently as well.

Mikey - What was that a practice stick? I would never use them on my cymbals that's for sure.

Too many great drums to list here!

They were a very thin stick, about the size of a 7A. I have 1 stick. It is a laminated stick with a small pointed aluminum tip. It says "Ludwig Lamo Metal Tip USA" stamped on the stick.

I remember aluminum sticks in different colors with white plastic tips. Around 1966/67. Can't remember who made them.

I've wondered the same thing myself. How about the all aluminum sticks? What was there actual purpose?
