Slingerland was really pulling out the stops in that era...too bad it wasn't enough to save the company

You have a nice set there, Multijd!

I've been playing them as my main set since I got them in 1981. I agree robbie. Thanks!

I love my Slingerlands. I really do. Whenever I consider getting rid of them I sit down, play them and the thought goes away. Such a great sounding kit and they are as inexpensive as a new Ludwig entry level import.

I've seen these import kits in the stores...mass production helps with quality control, I suppose, but everything about them screams cheap to me.

Nowadays, to get the same quality drums as vintage Slingerlands, you'd have to pay in the 3K range.

I've yet to hear one of the budget priced sets that sounds comparable to any of my vintage sets. How could we expect anything more for that price. Although I got my two round badge sets for $200 and $300 each and they we're complete with hardware and high quality cymbals. Now that's a deal!!
