As usual. Good stuff Mark.
“I did not trip and fall. I attacked the floor and I believe I am winning.”
Moon is the only drummer ever to play the same kit with Bonham on stage together. Bonham broke his own rule that day. I thought that was rather kind of John, but he knew how much Moon liked him.

That was fun, interesting and just way cool. Thank you mark.
Thank you!

Both were great drummers in there own way. But were complete idiots for let there addictions take over there lives resulting in there deaths. Sorry that's just my opinion.

I can't agree with you on the idiot part just simply due to drug, acohol dependency is a psychological and physical problem. It is tragic no less.
Moon wasn't even in the same league as Bonham. My opinion of course.
Bonham likely had more formal training than Moon, but in my book, they're both fantastic and I can't choose one over the other ... any such choice would depend on if I was in a Who or Zep mood.
Both were the perfect drummers for their respective bands. But I can't imagine Moon playing "Black Dog" or Bonham playing Tommy.

Both were great..Moon was the anti-everything drummer, which always amused and inspired me.. BUt Bonzo's the force to be reckoned with, much more disciplined and technically proficient.. Moon's outright insane "goldfish in the acrylic drums" was a classic never to be topped again by any other drummer before or since..LOL !

+10000.Addiction is a disease. For some it's sex, fast cars, thrill seeking ,others it's drugs and alcohol. These people have lost control because the disease decreases their ability to make good decisions. They weren't idiots, just as my son wasn't an idiot when he became addicted to drugs and alcohol. He's fine now, clean and sober for many years, but that's because ,we helped him through it,refused to enable him,and got him into treatment.THAT is what the Who and Zep should have done for the Loon and Bonzo....not enabled their behavior.
Townsend and Page have often said over the years, that they should, and could have done much more for these brilliant drummers and band mates. This tragedy, could possibly have been avoided.
That's me speaking from experience.I'm not looking for an argument, just laying out the facts, not opinion...no offence meant.
