COB Early 60's Ludwig. COB shell and hoops.

Loading...

I have an early 60's COB Luddy for sale. The drum has COB hoops and shell.

See photos for condition. The drum has scratches and dings, one in particular that is shown in photos. This is a great sounding players condition drum.

Everything is there and works as it should.

From green glass drum

Did these have a B stamp or other marking to id the brass shell?

No. I believe that was a 70's thing, but I'm sure someone else will chime with more exact information on when Ludwig started with the B markings...I can assure you that this drum is brass. Thanks.

...And one more shot for the skeptical and nonbelievers!

I removed a lug so anyone interested can see that this is indeed a brass shell. There are no extra holes in the drum.

am i seeing things or is there some pitting around the badge? brass does not pit, ludaloy shells will, do to the reaction on the chroming process

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
