am i seeing things or is there some pitting around the badge? brass does not pit, ludaloy shells will, do to the reaction on the chroming process

With all due respect, I know what the difference is between Ludalloy and brass. As I've stated numerous times, this is a brass shell with brass hoops. The photo you're referring to was taken close up with a macro setting.

The drum is brass, sounds fantastic, and its sold.

I saw a seam in pic. I also saw the end lip of the shell making the turn towards the inside of the shell. these are both indicative of a brass shell from this period. someone got a heck of a deal on a nice super 400.
