Roger's Holiday five piece with matching snare. Great price, but did I screw up!! Last viewed: 11 hours ago

I paid $599 for this kit which seems like a great deal especially with the original Dynasonic snare (at least I was told it was original). I was made aware of the non original tom mount on the bass drum and rack toms before I purchased the kit. The sizes are 20x14, 12x8, 13x9, 16x16 and 14x5 (Londoner 5). I am starting to worry that I made mistake buying this kit. What do you Rogers guys think about the non original stuff? I see a lot of Ludwig kits with extra holes etc. selling for good prices, but did not know if this is the same for Rogers kits. The color is silver sparkle which has faded somewhat. The snare and floor tom have no modifications that I can see. The inside paper tags say Rogers Holiday Dayton, Oh with serial numbers around 110,000. My thought is to remove the tom mounting hardware from the toms and bass drum and then play the kit as a four piece with the 12x8 rack tom mounted on a snare stand. What are your thoughts?

It`s a player,...I don`t see $120 a drum there. What will you do with the holes? (cos two are gonna be garage doors.)

Not even the snare or floor tom? Wow. At least I can return if necessary.

Maybe you could get creative with rubber bands and bobble-heads to get them to pop up and down with the Bass notes. And maybe smoke rings out the tom.

I would steer you away from that sale. You could part out and wait a year for complete return....maybe.

But I like the bobble-head idea for not asking first. We here wont steer you wrong, away or towards but not wrong.

You pay`d close to it`s value in OK condition all original. In todays market.

I looked into that very kit yesterday and passed due to the extra holes. You might be able to get your money back out of them, but for just a little more cash you can find a non modified kit if you are patient. Not worth the trouble in my opinion and I think you can return them without any problem to where you bought them or your local store.

My money says return them.

The snare and floor tom alone are worth $600.

The rest of the math is up to you...
