From Chicago Dave

Not that I ever have time to play.

I bet this kit sounds warm and inviting. The stool on the other hand looks very uncomfortable.

Here's my kit... Nothing much changes for gigs... choice of snares provide me enough variety.. Sometimes the 18, or the 8&10.. may have a night at home...

Cheers

John

On the job at Baileyana winery. Radio King "Marble Ballroom" set. Has become my gigging kit of choice lately. Just always sounds great, not fussy tuning. And, it's really fun to play...........

At the moment I'm playing this:

1980 Tama Superstars in 24x14, 13x9, 16x16 with coated emps over coated ambs on the toms and a clear emp with a solid smooth white amb head on the kick. 14x6.5 jarrah block snare with jarrah segment hoops (coated CS reverse black dot and amb s.s.) made by Paul at Metro Drums up in Queensland, Aus. 22" 60s A (2605g), 20" 50s A (1770g) and 16" 'Dark Matter Skim Lathed' hats by Craig Lauritsen (1045g and 1440g). The Tamas may have to make way soon for some Radio Kings if things go as planned...

My main gigging set are my Sonor Prolites. Here is a shot from the studio this past Monday.

For the vintage drums I really like my Gretsch kit. I also enjoy and have played at least one gig with my Camco kit.

Gary,

I LOVE that Gretsch set. My very first set was a 1946 WMP Gretsch 4-piece, so I've always had a fondness for those lugs. I can almost hear what that bass sounds like with the calfskin heads. Very nice!
