I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone chooses to play the most out of their collections and why. Whether it's just a practice room like me or on your gigs or for recording, show us your favorite kits to PLAY!

Here's what I play most lately. This is my Cleveland era Steel Grey Ripple set. Sizes are 12, 16, 22 with a early 60's crimped bed Ludwig Supra.

My current favorite cymbals are my 15" old (60's UFIP ?) hats and a 60's (I think) 21" Zildjian crash/ride.

This is to my ears the best sounding and widest tuning range set that I have ever owned.

Let's see yours!

Wow, nice set up Randy. I use my Pearl Crystal Beat set with a 1970 Acro for live shows with my band Golden Curtain because they look great under lights and sound great through a PA. I use my Premier 202 kit with a 64 Supra for recording with the same band (link to latest album) because the African mahogany toms are the best sounding of any of my kits. And I've just started using my Radio Kings with a country(ish) side project because they sound right for the music and they are just so cool. The cymbals i use are a pre-serial 20" 602 ride, a 17" Amedia old school crash, 18" Zildjian A modern crash and 60s 14" A hats (bought on this very forum)

From 1966bmx

Those Radio Kings are awesome !

I know. I bought them recently from a forum member here and shipped them all the way to New Zealand. I have them set up in my office and they are just the coolest drums. I can just sit and stare at them, especially when I'm supposed to be working:D My neighbors get intermittent bursts of drumming throughout the day also...especially when I'm supposed to be working

I'm playing my George Way kit! It's a re-wrap I did in Burgundy sparkle. Best sounding set of drums on this island earth! And talk about a monster sounding snare... check out my Geo. Way 5"x14" 'Aristocrat' (I 'think' it's called the Aristocrat, but I could be wrong.) It's solid, warm, responsive, articulate, and all the good things you can say about a snare. The third photo is the stable. Whenever I get in the mood, I'll set up one of these. Snare drums not pictured, they're on a separate rack. Enjoy...

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
